A novel series of azido sulfamethoxazole derivatives containing 1,2,3-triazole moiety was synthesized from alkyne barbiturate derivatives and azido sulfamethoxazole(1a) [4-Azido-N-(5-methylisoxazol-3-yl) benzenesulfonamide] in the presence of CuCl as a catalyst and cycloaddition of azidealkyne as a key proce and all chemical structure was confirmed utilizing several analytical methods. The target synthesized compounds were screened for their anti- antibacterial activities.
